Transparency in Procurement - Community Service

We at NH international (Caribbean) Limited have built anti-corruption standards into our corporate culture and procurement procedures. In 2003 we incorporated anti-bribery clauses in all sub-contract agreements.

Transparency in procurement involves good governance and accountability – both corporate and public. By adhering to standards of integrity, we basically save our clients and ourselves money and promote trust in our corporate relationships. We believe good corporate governance is simply good business sense.

Our Directors strongly supported the foundation of the chapter of Transparency international in Trinidad and Tobago and have seconded staff to assist the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute, industry organizations, and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in the advance of procurement reform and organisational ethical management.

NHIC’s Executive Chairman was co-founder of both the Trinidad and Tobago Contractors Association and the Joint Consultative Council for the Construction Industry (JCC) and our Directors have sat on working committees on training and for the increase of local inputs and labour in government procurement strategies in the oil and gas and construction industries.

NHIC also promotes the institutional strengthening of non-governmental organisations involved in the development of the construction industry through the committal of resources for worthy projects.
